Lexi Kaplin Joins Pender Ventures as Venture Partner

Pender Ventures is thrilled to announce Lexi Kaplin as our new Venture Partner. Lexi brings a wealth of knowledge and connections from her entrepreneurial journey, including building and exiting ConversationHEALTH, a leader in conversational AI for healthcare, acquired by Real Chemistry in April 2022. Her extensive network and expertise in healthcare and life sciences will greatly benefit our portfolio companies and investment team.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to bring Lexi on board at Pender Ventures with her extensive knowledge, network and passion for healthcare and life sciences. It’s been amazing to watch Lexi’s founder journey building ConversationHEALTH through to acquisition. I highly respect her high integrity character and entrepreneurial insights” added Meryeme Lahmami, principal at Pender Ventures.

Lexi’s entrepreneurial journey began at Queen’s University, where she founded her first company and engaged with Canada’s top entrepreneurs through DDQIC and the Next 36. As a young leader, she asserted her passion and unique expertise to initiate digital transformation in a traditionally slow-moving industry. As the co-founder and Chief Product Officer of ConversationHEALTH, Lexi spearheaded the development of an AI-driven platform that revolutionized engagement between healthcare companies and their customers. Their immense growth attracted the attention of Real Chemistry, leading to the acquisition of ConversationHEALTH in April 2022.

As a venture partner, Lexi will help Pender Ventures evaluate health tech opportunities as well as support portfolio companies. Drawing on her extensive experience, Lexi can provide valuable insights into building and scaling teams, products and companies.

About joining, Lexi adds “Pender’s mission as tech investors with a passion for healthcare resonates deeply with me after seeing the power startups have to improve patient outcomes and alleviate stress on healthcare workers. As a founder, I discovered that few investors focused on this cross-section between enterprise software and the intricate needs of the healthcare industry, so I am thrilled to join Maria, Meryeme, and the rest of the Pender team on their mission to bridge this gap and support the growth of their portfolio companies.”

We are delighted to have Lexi join us, and we are confident that her expertise will contribute significantly to our mission. Please join us in welcoming Lexi to the team.
